Very new to this so sorry if I am being a little slow.
I downloaded the xpadder no problems, found a driver on the microsoft website. The controller is now showing up on the controller pannel under game controllers. When I go to properties on there all the buttons work fine.
However, when I go on the xpadder, it is not registering any buttons being pressed at all.
Please help.

Update, everything is working fine on a generic controller but not on an xbox 360 one.
Any suggestions?

If it is a wireless 360 controller you need the wireless receiver for windows. The charge and play cable only charges it.

Re: Controller registered on computer but buttons aren't showing up on xpadder
Open the Controller Properties for this controller in Xpadder by selecting this controller (if it isn't already selected) and then clicking again on this tab.
Check there the name (if the controller is really is the Xbox360pad) and the input data on the right. If you move a stick or press any button, both sections (Xinput and DirectInput) should react. Also check if none of the buttons is always pressed for some reason, if you don't press any button then none of the green squares should be visible.
