Can't get it to work!

I download XPadder and a profile from the forum. I have a wireless XBox 360 controller with the drivers already installed. I can open XPadder and load a profile and when I press buttons on the controller, they register in XPadder but not in Windows (the cursor doesn't move, can't click anything). I have Windows 7 and the most up-to-date drivers for the controller... What's the problem here?

Note there are no assignments to the different control elements of the controller. When you load the profile it should similar to this-
