Aim Down the Sights on 360 controller & COD2
Aim Down the Sights on 360 controller & COD2
Is there a way I can configure my current COD2 profile to "Aim Down the Sights" on my 360 controller so it does not lock in the ADS position? I would prefer it to ADS only while holding the LT button. Thx!

There are 2 things that would cause this. Your LT button is set to toggle in Xpadder, OR your ADS button is set to toggle IN-GAME. I know that by default in COD4 your ADS button is set to toggle. Check your settings in Call of Duty 2.

theres a button for aiming down the sights only when being held AND another button for toggling. Make sure your using the right one

On the Xbox console, the LT button controls the ADS function and it only ADS when it's held. I was not aware of another button that allows you to ADS only when being held. Which button is it on the controller or is it something I need to map out through xpadder?teeth_03 wrote:theres a button for aiming down the sights only when being held AND another button for toggling. Its in-game. Go through the in-game control options and you will see what we are talking about.

I know CoD4 has it for the PC version, never played CoD2 or the console versions of any of them

I see the two options and I have the right mouse option assigned to my profile, which is simply ADS. I see there is a second option which is "Hold" ADS - I am NOT using that option and it is currently "Unbound", so unless I am missing something, I have the correct option selected yet the ADS function still locks the sights on my controller whenever I depress the LT button and won't release until I depress it again. Also, I do NOT have the toggle option enabled for the LT button.mnl1121 wrote:Its in-game. Go through the in-game control options and you will see what we are talking about.
This is the assignment as it appears in xpadder:
Cycle 1/1
HoldZone 1/1 (if button down for 0.01s+)
Stage 1/1 (1 element)
While button is down hold: Right Mouse Button (2)
No ReleaseZones
Switched option in the game console...problem solved.

The Hold button means you have to Hold it, so try binding the other control to your keys

Teeth_03 is correct. Your using the wrong one. Switch it and you should be good to go.
