Grim Fandango (XBox 360/XInput & PS2/PS3 Controllers)

Post by Kloreep »

Image

Grim Fandango does technically have native controller support, but the button assignments are hard-coded to specific button numbers. The results, at least on an XBox 360 pad with the Microsoft driver, feel a little funky, so I created a profile instead.

Problems With Grim Fandango?
Grim Fandango Setup is an independent installer that works on Vista/7 and 64-bit systems, and installs a new launcher for the game.
If you didn't need to use the above setup program, you can still get the new launcher that comes with it separately here.
Don't forget to patch the game after installing.

PS layout added 2011/02/06
Layout changes in rev2 2010/07/10 since rev1:
-Added distance zones to left stick so it can walk and run without other buttons. Mapped empty button B to inventory.

Updated with a Playstation version of the profile. And a few links at the bottom that may help get the game running on current-day systems.

Yes, an update for a profile I'm sure almost no one used, for a game that has gone sadly out of print. Ah well, cool people like YoJembo and me are having fun in the Land of the Dead. ;)

I currently thought on buying it. Amazon.de third party retailers, prize 29,90-39,99€.
Well, I guess not. Sadly Steam doesn't have it.

Yeah, prices for it are pretty high, even used.

I keep hoping LucasArts will re-release it, but so far they've only put a bit of their back catalog on digital stores.

Oh, sweet. This is definitely a game that deserves Xpadder treatment. Time to break out my Xbox 360 controller and find my Grim Fandango install discs. Manny Calavera here I come...
