Medal of Honor (2010)

Post by Errol »

Genre: First Person Shooter
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: Danger Close Digital Illusions CE (DICE)
Release Date: October 12, 2010

Game Review

Profile for Medal of Honor (2010)
Made by request. This game can be played with any type controller using Oke_Doke's Profile Converter; The Logitech F310 have a switch on the underside to go from Xinput to Dinput. In Xinput it plays exactly as an X360 controller.
Please read and follow all instructions or this profile won't work!
Note: Re-copy the input files from after patching to a newer version of the game and don't restore control defaults.

Profile notes:
Since the multiplayer part of the game is developed by Dice, (which is a good thing) the (lack of) controller support is almost the same as BFBC2. There is controller support but it is broken (just like BFBC2).

Installation instructions:
There are two different folders inside the attached .zip file, each folder also have there profile enclosed: My direct download link; Medal of Honor 2010.zip
- Multiplayer
- Singleplayer
The .zip file contains all files needed for both profiles to work.
==============================================================================================================
Multiplayer version instructions:
Instructions:
=============
1. Make sure Medal of Honor Multiplayer is installed. Start the game and exit the game.
2. Goto your "Documents & settings"-folder (Start-> Documents) and find the folder "EA Games".
3. Go into the "Multiplayer"-folder (if not present, start the game once and exit out of the game)
4. Create a new folder there, called "input" (if already present, delete the folder and its contents!)
5. Copy the contents of this "Input files"-folder into this folder
6. Goto the folder where your game is installed (where "mohmpgame.exe" resides). On a 32-bit Windows 7 system with a Steam-installation this will be "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\medal of honor\MP".
7. Copy the contents of the "Put in game directory"-folder into this folder. (this will kill the default joypad detection of the game to prevent interference)

This should clear all the game's joypad bindings, please verify this in the game's options after the steps above and don't restore defaults or you have to perform above steps again!
Now the profile will work without interference. Don't restore defaults or you have to re-copy the files again!

You can verify if this worked by going into the game's options. The joystick controls should all be empty!

Now the profile will work without interference.
==============================================================================================================
Singleplayer version instructions:
Instructions:
=============
1. Make sure Medal of Honor Singleplayer is installed start the game and exit the game.
2. Goto the folder where your game is installed (where "moh.exe" resides). On a 32-bit Windows 7 system with a Steam-installation this will be "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\medal of honor\Binaries".
3. Copy the contents of the "Put in game directory"-folder into this folder. (this will kill the default joypad detection of the game to prevent interference)
==============================================================================================================
Other:
You can change the mouse sensitivity in the options menu in the game.

For aim down sights zoom in and out on trigger pull and release:

Singleplayer:
Start the game -> Options -> Gameplay -> Ironsights as toggle: No

Multiplayer:
Start the game -> Options -> General -> Zoom toggle: Off

Both profiles are made with the Steam-retail version of the game.

Hope you like it, post here in case of questions or comments.

That is why I was so specific and put the info about the Xinput & Dinput!
I myself do have different controllers like the Logitech Rumblepad 2, Logitech Rumble Gamepad F510, Logitech Rumble Gamepad F310 and my precious X360 Controller and some others. That way I can test out my games, and now I can use Xpadder and my profiles to make sure they are working against Xinput and Dinput.

To tell you the truth I really never ever play any online games, only single player mode. So I can't answer that question. I make all my profile when playing in single player mode. At the same time I'm really happy that its working and playing in single player mode for you.

If Medal of Honor is like COD4:MW then it might be using PunkBuster for multiplayer support. When COD4 came out I found out PunkBuster silently changes the game user priviledge level to administrator and the fix was to run Xpadder as administrator.

OK guys, I've done some modifications with Medal of Honor 2010 and added a profile for Single player and a profile for Multi-player. Please follow all instructions or it will not work.

Can anyone tell me how to cancel the X-Box 360 controller support in MOH 2010 so that I can use my own Xpadder profile without interference?

I guess Smiley did already care for it.

Simply install his mod files.

After posting the above request today I decided to download Smiley's profile and copied the contents of the "Put in game directory" folder into the game's binary folder as directed.

I couldn't load the new profile (Smiley's) into Xpadder because I have an older version of the program but copying his files into the binary folder cancelled the game's X-Box 360 Controller's support as he said it would and in no time at all I was back in the game again with my own profile.

I use the controller with my left hand instead of the keyboard (laying it flat on the desk or table with a suitable improvised wrist rest) and a gaming mouse and mousepad with my right hand.

Thanks for the help. I can play much smoother, faster and precisely this way and can therefore really enjoy the game.
