[New] Dark Souls walk-run sensitivity 360 controller fix (slow turn problem)

Post by fgfgfg »

Alright - here's a fix for Dark Souls when you have a walk / run problem with the left stick - the problem is described on steamforums http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=2902202 :
I'm using a 360 controller, and it seems that I'm having a problem where my sensitivity while pushing up on the left joystick (the one you move with) drops for no apparent reason (works fine in other games) and my character decides to walk or run at will, when I'm just pushing the joystick up and keeping it in the same place.

Is anyone else having this problem? It only happens when going forwards, and this also means half of the time my character won't dash. I have calibrated it multiple times in windows and it works fine. Only in this game does it have this problem.
No matter what you do, sometimes it will just not jog!

Maybe it only happens on the left, or going forwards?

Some people call this a "slow turn" controller, you cannot fix it inside windows.

But you can fix it easily with xpadder by making an empty profile except I've mapped the keyboard movement controls to the left stick. All other controls are native without xpadder influence.

I have mapped walk AND jog from the keyboard at a 60% distance transition,

- move the stick <60% = walk
- move the stick >60% = jog

Toggle the transition distance if you have problems.

Enjoy :-)

Thank you floogles! Dark Souls is hard enough as it is, don't need any controller handicaps to go with that. This profile fixed it, so again, thank you very much floogles!!
